Cheerful Butterfly

Two-Loop Bow

Clean and uncomplicated: the butterfly bow needs no loops at all. This makes it particularly practical when a regular bow might get squashed, or when an envelope needs to stay flat. Use bold, bright colours to turn it into a striking eye-catcher!

Instructions

You will need:

• 2 x approx. 15 cm of decorative ribbon (in two different colours)
• approx. 50 cm of tie ribbon (narrow)

Tying the bow:

1. Begin by cutting the two pieces of decorative ribbon to the same length, with angled ends.
2. Lay them on top of each other in a cross at the centre.
3. Gather them slightly at that point.
4. Use a pin to hold the shape in place.
5. Take the tie ribbon.
6. Tie it firmly around the centre of the two “wings”.
7. You can now remove the pin.
8. Tying an additional ribbon around the centre will make the bow even more playful and eye-catching.
9. To attach it to a gift, first tie a length of ribbon around the package.
10. Simply use the ribbon ends to secure the bow with a double knot.
11. Your butterfly is ready! It works just as well on bottles and envelopes.
12. If you enjoy the colour mix, you might also like the two-loop bow.

If you prefer a more understated look, the elegant single-loop bow may be an alternative for you.
