Two-Loop Bow

A simple bow can do more than you’d expect: tie two two-loop bows together and the classic instantly becomes an extravagant one-of-a-kind creation. Experiment freely with colours, materials, loop sizes, and ribbons of different widths!

Instructions

You will need:

• 2 x approx. 50 cm of decorative ribbon (varying in width, length, colour and/or material as desired)
• 2 x approx. 50 cm of tie ribbon (narrow)
• pins

Tying the bow:

1. A double two-loop bow can be attached directly to a bottle very easily. Start with one of the tie ribbons and knot it around the neck of the bottle.
2. Carefully fold the first piece of decorative ribbon in half so that both sides are equal in length.
3. Cross the two halves over each other and form a loop.
4. Press the loop from behind against the crossing point of the ribbons, then secure the resulting bow wings with a pin.
5. To fix the bow in place, take the tie ribbon and knot it around the centre of the bow, crossing over the pin. Remove the pin and make a double knot. You can then gently adjust the bow into shape.
6. Now repeat the entire process with the second piece of decorative ribbon, forming the basic two-loop bow shape once more as described above. Pin it in place and secure it with a knot using the second tie ribbon. A single knot is sufficient here, as this bow will now be attached to the first one with a double knot. Place it on top of the already finished bow and tie it firmly using the first bow’s tie ribbon.

Tip: when making a double two-loop bow where one bow is smaller than the other, always tie the smaller one second and attach it on top of the larger one. Only then will it truly stand out.

Of course, this bow looks just as great on a gift box or an envelope.
