The Classic with a Christmas Twist

Double Two-Loop Bow for the Christmas Tree

Stylish Christmas tree decorations are easy to make yourself: combine two two-loop bows and you will have a stunning eye-catcher in no time.

Instructions

You will need:

  • two pieces of decorative ribbon of different lengths (varying in width, length, colour and/or material as desired)
  • approx. 50 cm of tie ribbon (narrow)
  • pins for securing

Tying the bow:

  1. Fold the first piece of decorative ribbon in half so that both sides are equal in length.
  2. Cross the two halves over each other and form a loop.
  3. Gather it at the centre at the crossing point of the ribbons, then secure the resulting bow wings with a pin.
  4. To fix the bow in place, take the tie ribbon and knot it around the centre of the bow, crossing over the pin. Remove the pin and make a knot. You can then gently adjust the bow into shape.
  5. Now repeat the entire process with the second piece of decorative ribbon to form the basic two-loop bow shape once more.
  6. Pin it in place, then tie it to the back of the first bow using the tie ribbon.
  7. Make sure this second knot also sits on the back of the finished double bow. Then remove the pins.
  8. Attaching the bow to the tree: a double two-loop bow can be attached to a Christmas tree very easily.
  9. Place the bow on the desired branch and tie the ribbon firmly around it. A double knot is recommended here too to keep it securely in place.

Of course, this bow looks just as wonderful on a Christmas gift. Whether on a package, a bottle, or an envelope, the classic double two-loop bow has a particularly festive feel.

Have fun decorating!
